We are outta here. Come check out our new digs at the new Lesbourgeoisie.

Xanga you have been good to us and we thank you for giving us this platform from which to shout whatever we want. It has been a good 2 years. We have learned alot about blogging and coding and such things while we have been with you. And know it is time to graduate on to bigger and better things. We will always remember you with fondness as our first blog.

No, seriously, we are mainly moving for 2 reasons. At our new site Brad and I are able to log in separately as, ta-dah!, ourselves. So each post will state quite clearly who it was authored by. And because anybody with an email address can comment. No more having to get a Xanga name in order to be able to comment. So come see and come comment.

ps- things will be under construction for a while as I continue to learn what I am doing. I am kinda flying by the seat of my pants on all of the HTML and just learning as I go. This new site isn't quite multiple choice like this one was.

pss-big SHOUT-OUT to Jessie-Bessie for helping me soooooo much with our new site!

I'm so glad that wasn't my kid

That is a really awful title, but I couldn't help thinking it this afternoon. As Stephen and I were coming out of the church where his school/mother's day out is held we saw a little boy, probably about 3, who had fallen behind as he was following his mom to their car. He had stopped on this little square of grass in the middle of the parking lot and had his pants and underwear/diaper pulled all the way down. He was holding his wee-wee and looking down like he was trying to figure out how to work it. His mom who had already reached their car and was putting their stuff inside turned around and saw him and then cried out his name and asked him what in the world he was doing. At this point she saw us walking by and me smiling as I gripped Stephen's hand tightly lest he get away and do something equally embarrassing. I waved and called out something about him just being a boy. She quickly shut the door to their car and ran to scoop him up. I heard her telling him "we don't go potty out here, we'll go inside and go potty, come on..." as she ran for the door inside. I guess this is a hazard of potty-training little boys. I haven't heard too many stories of little girls just deciding to go potty wherever they are standing. Anyways, it was pretty funny, but I'm glad it wasn't my kid guilty of indecent exposure.

Thursday, February 16, 2006
Are You a Slacker Mom?

Your quiz results make you a Smarty Pants Mom

Smart parents like you have smart kids. For those of you who don't know- this is a front end loader. I didn't know I could make one of those out of play-do but apparently I can. Looks pretty good to me too. (much better than the motorcycle I attempted!) He can identify most ummm, motorized things.?. by sight and sound. Therefore my knowledge of such things has increased. It's fun, but will be interesting to see how girly baby yexie will be and how those worlds will collide.

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

note to brad

Just for the record I don't think matching nose jobs is something I ever want for Valentine's day. She is going to be 7 months old tomorrow. Wow, it is going by so fast. Somebody please make it stop! She is sitting up pretty well. And eating everything. We are still breastfeeding but she is also eating three meals a day in the highchair. So far she likes everything. Then when she is done eating in the highchair she reaches for whatever she can get off of our plates. Last night at a mexican restaurant I fed her most of my refried beans to keep her happy so the rest of us could eat. Toys would not distract. Not even having been fed right before we got there would distract. There was food on the table in front of her to be explored and we were holding out on her!

She mostly lives in her walker. I figure a little bit of height helps level the playing field with her brother, though only slightly. I caught him with a bed pillow on the tray of her walker essentially smothering her. I am giving him credit that this was not his intention. She was struggling to see (and breathe) over the top of it. Baby Yexie, as he calls her, wasn't crying. She loves it when he pays attention to her.

She is also showing signs of crawling soon. I am seeing her ooch and inchworm slightly as she is trying to get to some toy on the floor in front of her. It won't be long. We just had her 6 mth pictures taken yesterday by our favorite photographer, Mrs. Shipp. I will post one when I get them back. They turned out so well. I might be partial but that is still one really cute baby!

She looks a little stunned in this picture, but I thought it showed off the red tint to her hair. Her hair isn't falling out, and YEAH! her bald spot in the back is filling in. Her eyebrows & lashes look reddish too. That will be cool to have a red haired little girl, though we have no clue where the red gene came from.

Everybody keeps telling me how petite she is and I feel really stupid stubbornly insisting that my baby is fat. She is definitely fat compared to Stephen. This picture shows off some of the chub. She is petite I guess. She has very little hand and feet with fat rolls where they attach to her body. And the thigh rolls under that diaper are for a Michelin baby princess! I'm just waiting for her to blow up even more now that she is scarfing baby food and table food.

I was trying so hard to take a good together shot for Valentine's (note the red accents in their clothing.) This was much easier said than done. I even resorted to bribing with promises of red popsicles. Baby girl was easy enough to get to smile, but man 2 year old little boys don't want to smile on command.

*note- we our having technical difficulties with our digital camera. Man, I am spoiled too. I am freaking about all the pictures I am missing out on. But we are shopping around and will hopefully be getting a new one soon. So there may not be as many pictures for a while.

Saturday, February 11, 2006

Happy Birthday, Mom!
